Nature Park Golden Sands

Nature Park Golden Sands is the smallest Nature Park (13.2 sq km) in Bulgaria. In 1943 the Park was declared a protected area in order to preserve its valuable flora, fauna and specific landscapes. The Park is part of the European Natura 2000 network as the Special Conservation Area Golden Sands.

The Nature Park is situated 17 km north-west of Varna. This zone runs parallel to the coastline, forms the western border of the Golden Sands complex and extends to the village of Kranevo to the north. The Park has an average length of 9.2 km and a width of 1.2 km.
